This was an incredible spring rally

We kicked off the season with a premier Texas adventure motorcycle riding experience. March 7-10, Austin Moto Adventures provided a spectacular lineup set against the backdrop of the Texas Hill Country:

About the Great TouraTexas Spring Warm-up



Ride routes through the Texas Hill Country

Enjoy rides where you will explore twisty hill-country roads with breathtaking views in the heart of Texas. We’ll offer different Friday and Saturday route options. The routes are curated by Richard Gibbens, author and local expert on adventure motorcycle riding in the Texas Hill Country and Big Bend, and will have something for everyone.



Beginner and Intermediate half-day training for an extra fee

Improve your off-road skills with rider-training courses taught by world-class instructors. Austin Moto Adventures will be offering on-site beginner and intermediate training classes for an extra fee.



Learn from the experts

Get tips and tricks from adventure experts during on-site clinics and classes, or take inspiration from presentations by fascinating motorcycle travelers.



Obstacle courses and riding games

Show off your mad bike-handling skills and take home a trophy in our inaugural Slow Race or ADV Challenge competitions. The most fun might just be spectating the competition with friends.



Half-day rides

Ride at your own pace on a half-day ride.



Hill Country Scavenger Hunt

You’ll probably break a sweat. You’ll definitely have a great time.

Accommodations options

Cabins: Beautiful on-site cabins from Austin Moto Adventures are available for rent, but hurry … availability is limited.
Tent: Park your bike and pitch a tent in the grassy camping area on-site
RV: Reserve space in the RV lot
Burnet motels: Book a room in Burnet.



Parking

Riding in on two wheels is free. Non-motorcycle parking passes must be purchased at the rally registration page. Most people ride to the event, but there is no shame in hauling out the toys on a trailer … you’ll just have to park it in the RV lot.



Eats

We won’t feed you, but the on-site food trucks and restaurants in Burnet, Texas (10 miles away) will, and the food is delicious. You also can stock up on cold beverages, ice, and provisions in town.



Fuel

You can gas up your motorcycle just a stone’s throw from the event.

7:30PM – 10:00PM [Pavilion] Local talent: Steel Grassy playing on the stage. Steel Grassy is a bluegrass band comprised of some of Austin’s finest, smiling-est acoustic musicians. Steel Grassy features the perfect mix of bluegrass, Americana, country and folk music.

6:00PM – 7:00PM [Pavilion] Closing ceremonies and prize presentations to the winners of the Rever Scavenger Hunt, Touratech Slow Race, and REV’IT! Challenge Course. Hosted by Rosson Richardson.

7:00PM – 10:00PM [Pavilion] Local talent: Motenko playing on the stage. Straddling the smokey smoothness of soul’s ‘70s heyday and the freewheeling studio experimentation of modern pop and R&B, Motenko is one of Austin music’s best kept secrets.

Sunday, Mar 10, 2024

7:00AM – 8:00AM [Pavilion – lakeside] Wake-up, meet at the lakeside for an all faith Sunday Service hosted by Rob Glass.

Pack up – clean up – Ride out.

Please take your trash to the Trash Can.

Pack for departure and ride carefully.

All riders must be off premises by 1PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

My partner isn’t riding, do they need a ticket?

Yes. Every attendee needs a ticket, riding or not. Like going to a concert of your partner’s favorite band. You might not like the music, but you still need a ticket.

What kind of bikes are allowed?

Any street-legal motorcycle can be ridden to The Great TouraTexas Spring Warm-up. It will be up to the rider to determine which riding opportunities will work for them and their bike.

Where do we sleep?

Space will be provided for all registered attendees to camp. Rent one of our Cabins (limited availability). There is also some lodging nearby. There are a few motels around Burnet, Texas. Book it early!

What is volunteering like?

It’s fun! We require that all volunteers work a minimum of eight hours (can be two four-hour shifts) during the weekend. In exchange, you get free admission, a sweet T-shirt, and other SWAG. We’ll definitely put you to work on your shifts.

I’m a beginner rider. Will there be rides that I’ll be able to participate in?

Absolutely! We have lots of fun routes and rides suggested for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. There are also motorcycle training classes on-site that riders and especially beginner riders could benefit from before heading to the off-road routes. (Please check for training costs associated for those classes.)

Are the classes and workshops free?

All of the classes and workshops are included in your admission EXCEPT on-hands ADV riding courses at the Austin Moto Adventures Training Grounds. Those are paid for separately.

What do we eat?

Bring food like any camping trip. There also will be food vendors on-site. There are grocery and small stores in town and we’re not far from restaurants.

If I don’t register early can I do it on the day I arrive?

It depends on whether the event is sold out. If not, then yes.

When is The Great TouraTexas Spring Warm-up?

That will be March 7-10, 2024.

Are there day passes?

Day passes are not pre-sold. There will be day passes at the gate on Friday and Saturday unless the event is at capacity. Availability is not guaranteed.

Is there water available?

Yes. We will have free water for rally participants. We encourage you to bring water too. You can never have enough.

What if parking is sold out?

We limit the four-wheeled vehicles on-site. Why? It’s an ADVenture Motorcycle rally. Also, if you check availability regularly, parking will open up if there are cancellations.

If my motorcycle breaks, what do I do?

You’ll be surrounded on all sides by riders experienced in “on-the-fly” repairs, so hopefully you can get it back to camp on two wheels and not 4… Bike recovery is your responsibility and we work with a local recovery service. If there is a cost incurred, it’s yours to pay.

What type of tires do I need?

It’s possible to do the rides on street tires but we strongly recommend at least a 50/50 tire.

If I crash, who is responsible if I’m injured?

No crashing allowed, but if you do, you’re responsible for any costs incurred. All participants are required to sign a waiver to enter the grounds. We’ll have on-site medics.

Where do I get gas?

There are fuel stations within 10 miles of the rally and throughout Burnet and other towns in the area.

Is there stuff to buy?

Yes. Most vendors sell products or provide discounted prices. Touratech sells event souvenirs but any purchases from them must be made online.

Where do I park my trailer?

Trailer and RV parking is on-site and you need to purchase a pass. Trailers and RV’s are parked separately from the motorcycle/tent camping area. There are no RV utilities to plug into.

Are there showers?

Yes. Showers will be on-site and they feel awesome after a day in the saddle!

What if I show up to the rally early?

Early entry will be allowed to staff, some vendors, and volunteers. If you show up on Wednesday and have not pre-arranged it, you won’t be allowed entry.

Is there on-site security?

There will be on-site security 24×7.

When can I see the event schedule?

What about kids?

Kids 15 and under can enter FREE. They cannot ride motorcycles on-site. Only licensed riders can operate a motorcycle on-site. All motorcycles must have a valid plate. Helmets are required. NO PIT BIKES!
